Without yet revealing the past in fear that Lillie will reject his love, Jake finally admits that he is what she suspects, the living dead, a Vampire. With love comes heartache and loss, as Lillie is subjected to a barrage of advances and threats by Ciarra, Jakes evil and vindictive maker. Ciarra wants nothing more than to have Jake as her companion and will not allow anyone to stand in her way. Lillie soon leaves Sunriver and Jake behind as she heads to college in California not knowing that the secret Lillie carried with her would forever change everyone's life.

The writing was difficult to follow. It seemed that each chapter was one long paragraph and the writing would jump back and forth from first person to third and then back. Very predictable story line especially if you've read the Twilight saga. Over all a decent story but the writing needs mu h work. I found myself skimming over 3/4 of the book because of the aggravating writing. I won't read a second book if there is one.Product details

made my wife cry and i must admit so did i so when the second book comes out i shall read it also
The overall plot of this story was good, however the writing execution was, I'm sorry to say...awful! I'm not sure what was worse, the innapropriate combination of 1st and 3rd person context dialogue, or that there was so much meaningless babble but a complete lack of focus on creating the relationships between a lot of the characters. Often during reading this I wondered if the author was a twelve year old girl. Despite the disasterous put - together of the story the plot is easy to figure out. It was an annoying but simple read.
