In The Vision Glasses we meet Candace, a short-tempered woman just short of middle age, egocentric and narrow-minded, not caring about the misfortune of others.
Then there is Lance, a youth with no future at all, existing day by day, living from scraps wherever he can find them, dreaming of better times. The author nicely juxtaposes these two very different characters, as they deal with the mystery of a set of unique eye glasses.
